Transaction and Account Security Guidance
Account security is a top priority for AlicoRemit UK Ltd. We take multiple steps to protect your account and transaction information — and you can also play an important role in keeping your account safe.
Account Verification Processes
When you open an AlicoRemit account, we will ask for certain personal information and require email verification to confirm your identity.
Once your account is active, we use both manual checks and automated monitoring systems to detect suspicious activity. If something looks unusual or inconsistent with your past usage, our systems will flag it for review.
We also work with trusted, industry-leading service providers to help us verify identity and financial information. These providers never contact you directly and will only use your information to help us securely process your intended transaction.
Password Security
- Every login to your account is protected by a secure server connection (https://) using SSL with 256-bit encryption.
- Your account is protected by the password you create. To keep it safe:
- Use at least 8 characters, mixing numbers, symbols, and upper/lower case letters.
- Avoid obvious words or phrases.
- Keep your password confidential — do not share it with anyone.
Be Wary of Internet Scams
Stay alert to fraud. For example:
– ❌ Do not send money to claim lottery winnings, prize money, or promises of large payouts.
– ❌ Do not send money to secure a “guaranteed” loan or credit card.
– ❌ Do not make payments to people or companies you do not know or cannot verify.
If you are unsure, stop and ask questions before completing a transaction.
Identifying Phishing or Spoofed Emails
Sometimes criminals send fake emails pretending to be from AlicoRemit. These emails may try to trick you into entering your login details or payment information on a fake website.
⚠️ Key tips to protect yourself:
– We will never ask you for your password, card PIN, or full security code by email.
– Do not open attachments from suspicious emails — they may contain viruses.
– Check the sender’s email address carefully. Genuine AlicoRemit emails come from addresses ending in @alicoremit.co.uk.
– Our official website is always: https://www.alicoremit.co.uk.
If you accidentally clicked a suspicious link and entered your login details:
1. Immediately reset your password by logging in directly at alicoremit.co.uk.
2. If you entered card details, contact your bank or card issuer straight away.
3. Remove any compromised cards from your AlicoRemit account.
4. Report the phishing email to us at abuse@alicoremit.co.uk.
Reporting Security Concerns
